Born in Recklinghausen in 1989, artist Beatrice Richter completed her studies in free art at the Düsseldorf Art Academy in 2018 as a master student of Prof. Herbert Brandl. In her works, the process character of the work plays a decisive role. Richter's working method envisages preserving the traces of creation in the picture without destroying them at the same time.
This tension is also felt by the viewers, who automatically try to identify familiar objects in the factually abstract elements: butterflies, flowers, grasses, sea creatures. Since this determination of the forms to a concrete thing cannot succeed, however, the confrontation with Richter's works has something unresolved - viewer and work thus remain quasi constantly in dialogue.
