David Czupryn (*1983) is a master of the trompe-l'œil effect, the centuries-old art of eye illusion that celebrates an unexpected comeback with him. With brush and paint he mimetically reproduces surfaces, thus provocatively negating handwriting and gesture. The pictures seem to be cast in one piece; they are not photorealistic, but illusionistic three-dimensional.
David Czupryn was born in 1983 and studied sculpture and painting at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. The catalogue will be published on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name in the Städtisches Museum Engen+Galerie.
