Eva Gentner’s art is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach uniting the fine arts with music, dance, and literature. The ephemeral nature of the world, its constant transformation and impermanence are recurring themes in her work; another key aspect of her oeuvre is the thorough examination of material structures.
On the basis of Herman Melville’s novel Moby Dick, published in 1851, Gentner created her latest series of works which explores the ocean and transient spaces.
This artist’s book is published to accompany her exhibition ocean in the Rudolf-Scharpf-Gallery of the Wilhelm-Hack-Museum in the German city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein.
