The most interesting thing about life is the fine line that we all walk, not knowing which turn our fate is going to take. A trained nurse himself, photographer Günter Valda is closer to these crossroads of life than anyone else.
In his new book “Reset,” Valda tries to capture the beauty of these paths, which is usually invisible at first glance; he wants to show how people who have to live with life-long impairments after an accident fight their way back into life, often coming back even stronger, and how they push themselves to their limits – and beyond – every single day.
The book feartures portraits of 17 extraordinary people with 17 unique and unbelievable stories. 17 lives which all have one thing in common: fate challenged these people. And they fought their way back into life. Some of them have even become top parasport athletes.
These people’s stories are encouraging and inspiring. They clearly show that we are never alone, even if forced to tread new paths. They are also living proof that a physical disability definitely does not mean that you cannot enjoy life.
