Under the title Konterfei (“likeness”), this book introduces a total of sixteen artistic positions, ranging from classic nature study to caricature. The selected works explore people from different angles, their faces and facial expressions, their bodies, postures, and gestures. They also include images of animals, mythical figures, and figments of the imagination, while caricatures shine a satirical light on the status quo of the human world.
